I woke up this morning in a fog. I tend to do that after a night of interrupted sleep. After all, I'm not as young as I used to be.
I decided a big breakfast would do both mom and me some good, so instead of our usual blueberries and cereal, I made pancakes and eggs.
I should have thought twice about turning on the stove in my sleep deprived, zombie like state, but I guess that's where the term "fog" comes in.
As I slid the egg off the skillet and aimed for my plate I totally missed my mark and my egg landed with a 'splat' on the table on top of my fork and knife. I figured it was still edible so I put it on my plate next to my pancakes.
Mom and I both sat down to enjoy our breakfast and as I was pouring my syrup I looked down and jerked my hand back just a second or two too late as the first drops of syrup landed on my egg. Now, not only did I have a mutilated egg, but it was a syrupy one. For some people I guess that would not be a problem, but I don't particularly like syrup on my eggs.
So, no eggs for me today. I'm happy with my pancakes
I could have entitled this blog "A breakfast gone wrong," but I think I'll go with a theme today of "It's just a 'pancake' kind of day."
I do wish I could have some caffeine with these pancakes to break this fog. Maybe some de-caff iced tea will wake me up!
Whatever you are doing today, enjoy it!
